Slayer is back with its first new release in six years and drummer Dave Lombardo has returned. If you wanna bang your head to a metal masterpiece, pick-up "Christ Illusion."

Maria Muldaur has returned with another soulful classic,"Heart of Mine: the Love Songs of Bob Dylan," on Telarc Records. Her version of "Lay Baby Lay (Lay Lady Lady)" is a stand out track and sure to stick in your memory.

Speaking of Dylan, his new album, "Modern Times," is due to hit the street on Aug. 29. It will come in an ordinary compact disc package and a special edition with a DVD.

Marquette's Bluesfest is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2 & 3 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. Acts include Alberta Adams, Saffire, Chicago Rhythm & Blues Kings, Reverend Raven, Ana Popovic and Bernard Allison. Tickets are available at the Record Rack and at the gate. Sure to be a good time.
